Russia’s Primorsky Krai Governor: co-operation with BelAZ contributing to increased coal production
Co-operation with BELAZ is helping to increase coal production – as noted by Oleg Kozhemyako, the Governor of Russia’s Primorsky Krai, who recently personally assessed the quality and efficiency of Belarusian heavy-duty dump trucks during a visit to the Luchegorsky coal mine, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian company’s press service.
The Luchegorsky coal mine in the Primorsky Krai plans to replenish its mining equipment fleet with five 220-tonne BelAZ vehicles by the end of June. The new dump trucks will join the 36 trucks with the lifting capacity of 130- and 220 tonnes purchased by the Primorsky enterprise over the last two years. The powerful Belarusian equipment will allow the company to increase production volumes of lignite coal, a valuable natural energy resource, and strengthen the logistical potential of one of the key Russian enterprises in the Far East.
During his visit to the Luchegorsky coal mine, Oleg Kozhemyako personally got behind the wheel of a BelAZ and tested the Belarusian machinery. “I can say that the quality is very high. BelAZ is a reliable partner. In spite of its size, the machine is very easy to drive, as I have personally seen. We can see that the co-operation with the Republic of Belarus, with the BelAZ Plant, will result in increased coal production,” he said.
The BelAZ-7513D and BelAZ-7530G dump trucks are the first link in the transport chain of the Luchegorsky coal mine. The 220-tonne vehicles ensure reliable delivery of coal from the open-pit mine to the points of loading into railway wagons, while their 130-tonne counterparts transport overburden. The Luchegorsky coal mine also employs special machinery. This winter, two new BelAZ-7430 recovery tractors were delivered to the open-pit mine.
