Following an interview with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, Rick Sanchez, host of the Sanchez Effect show on RT, shared his impressions of a frank conversation with the Belarusian leader with journalists from the Presidential pool
“The interview was not pre-prepared. It was a free conversation between two people who freely exchanged ideas. It was very interesting. Actually, if Lukashenko is a dictator, then I am the Queen of England,” Rick Sanchez emphasised.
At the same time, when asked what thoughts of the President of Belarus Rick Sanchez had before his arrival to Minsk and whether they changed following the conversation, the journalist noted that there are indeed many stereotypes in the United States, and the media mention them on a daily basis, “I am an American, and when going to Belarus, I was to meet with a ‘dictator’. After all, in America, certain information is insistently promoted: i.e. Chinese are liars, Russians and Belarusians are hooligans, Africa and Latin America do not matter at all, and the Middle East is terroristic. The media talk about this all the time. After the conversation [with Aleksandr Lukashenko] I understand that there is another reality, which is why our joint work is very important, as it can show the world that there is no one-sided view of life. I want to show this alternate reality to my audience. True, there are differences between us, not everything is perfect everywhere (there are no perfect countries), we may disagree with something, but we can discuss these differences and come to an agreement.”
