President of Laos expressed hope for Belarus’ participation in national project implementation across various fields

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Uladzimir Baravikou, presented his credentials to the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongloun Sisoulith

“The parties stressed the existence of significant potential for building up interaction between Belarus and Laos across various fields. The President of Laos expressed hope for Belarus’ participation in the implementation of projects in the economy, culture and education in his country,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

During the trip, the Belarusian Ambassador also discussed with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Laos, Xaysomphone Phomvihane, the prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary co-operation and developing the legal framework.

Earlier, Uladzimir Baravikou held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Bounleua Phandanouvong. The traditionally friendly nature of the Belarusian-Laotian liaisons was noted, the agenda of relations between the two countries, mutual support in international organisations, as well as plans for the exchange of visits in 2023 were discussed.
