Poland bears enormous image costs, military expert asserts

In his talk with the ONT TV channel, an independent military expert – Aleksandr Alesin – commented on Poland's actions against refugees stranded on the border

“Poland is bearing enormous image costs,” he stated. “Initially, they thought that the situation [with refugees] would be in their favour. However, the further it is developing, the more victims there are. The more the media is demonstrating the real situation, the more Poland is coming out as a xenophobic state – even in the eyes of Europe. It's fascism when people are poisoned with insecticides, like cockroaches. This presents their attitude: they don't think they [refugees] are people. Refugees are likened to lower kind creatures.”
