“Belarus boasts extensive experience in agriculture and industry: key points of interest for Pakistan, including in terms of establishing joint ventures in our country. At the current stage, the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) is already negotiating with one of the Pakistani companies on the issue of opening an assembly plant in Pakistan. A number of other similar projects are also on the agenda.

The Ambassador also said that nine special economic zones are planned to be created in Pakistan, four of which are in a high degree of readiness, “These zones will be located within the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. They may also be of interest for joint projects with Belarus. For example, the Pakistani side is interested not only in the creation of joint ventures in the field of milk processing. We also discussed the possibilities of bilateral co-operation in education and culture.”

The diplomat stated that the current trade turnover is quite low, taking into account the economic potential of the two countries, “Therefore, we intend to make every effort to increase mutual trade. We also attach great importance to intensifying contacts between the business circles of the two states.”
