Mr. Orban proposed that Hungarian citizens express their opinion on this issue in questionnaires that were sent by mail during the ongoing national consultations. He clarified that the national sovereignty protection is in focus, and the EU plans to hold a serious discussion on the issue.

"The Brussels bureaucrats again want to tell us how to live: they want to give Ukraine more money and more weapons, they want us not to have cuts in housing and communal services if they do not have them, and they want us, Hungarians, to let migrants in," Mr. Orban said.

The Prime Minister added that Hungarians do not want ‘to dance to the tune of Brussels’. During his Facebook video message, Mr. Orban demonstrated that he had filled out the questionnaire he received by email and sent it back. This is necessary to summarise the results of the national consultations that will be held in Hungary before the beginning of January.

In this way the Government hopes to get the support of citizens to negotiate with EU leaders.
