MTZ plans to increase export supplies to $1bn

Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) plans in the short term to increase exports of its products to $1bn – as stated by Vitaly Vovk, MTZ’s General Director, in an interview with the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House

“Last year, MTZ-HOLDING sold $716m of goods, including 36,800 units of tractor equipment. The lion’s share – more than 90 percent – was delivered abroad. The export growth rate stood at 123.8 percent compared to 2020, enabling our country to enter the top-15 countries which export tractors worldwide, ranking Belarus in 11th place. Despite certain difficulties associated with the geopolitical and macroeconomic situation, this year, we plan to fulfil the plan and ensure an export growth rate of 109 percent compared to 2021. Our main short-term goal is to export $1bn of products.”

According to Mr. Vovk, new countries will be opened for sales to achieve it.

“We will also expand our presence in traditional markets, increase the range of products, develop a distribution network together with partners, create assembly plants in countries where it is more profitable to import tractor sets than finished products, and develop advertising as well as exhibition activities,” added MTZ’s Director General.
