MP: Belarus-Russia trade turnover reached $35.5bn in nine months of 2023

From January-September 2023, the trade turnover between Belarus and Russia amounted to $35.5bn, which was almost 11 percent more than in the same period last year when the mutual trade set new records – as stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Valery Belsky, at a meeting of the interparliamentary commission of the Council of the Republic and the Federation Council on interregional co-operation

“This high figure does not actually stop our governments and our enterprises, which are steadily increasing the turnover,” Mr. Belsky said. “The implementation of investment projects in Belarus continues, including at the expense of Russia’s credit funds. These enterprises are primarily engaged into the production of import-substituting products that will be in demand both in Belarus and in Russia. The heads of our states and governments are focused on the further development of co-operation ties and new joint projects. Of course, the annual Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia makes a worthy contribution to the overall dynamics.”
