More children died in Gaza in three weeks than in the world in a year

The number of children killed in three weeks in Gaza has exceeded the number of those killed in global armed conflicts since 2019, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Save the Children charity

A statement posted on the Save the Children website reads that the number of children reported killed in Gaza over the past three weeks has surpassed the annual number of children killed in global armed conflicts (namely, in more than 20 countries) in each of the past four years.

According to the organisation, children account for more than 40 percent of the 7,703 people killed in Gaza. Save the Children stressed that the number of dead children may be higher, since another 1,000 minors are missing and may be under rubble.
