Mitskevich: Belarus demonstrating to the whole world real humanism towards migrants
In modern international realities, when hybrid attacks on Belarus and Russia continue, it is obvious that we must ensure the unified security of the Union State. One of its components is migration security. The relevance of improving legislation in the field of migration regulation is determined primarily by the tense political situation near our borders – as stated by Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Valery Mitskevich during Actual Issues of Migration Policy: Practical Solutions and Prospects for Legislative Regulation parliamentary hearings
“Issues of migration policy are among the most acute and widely discussed, and the topics of the current parliamentary hearings are important and relevant. The events of recent years have shown us that we need to be prepared for various difficult situations, including migration crises. It is necessary to have developed algorithms of actions to prevent their occurrence, as well as to effectively resolve them.”
The migration crisis of 2021 on the border of Belarus, which was caused, among other things, by the actions of the collective West, showed the unwillingness of some states to bear responsibility for their actions.
Valery Mitskevich cited the situation in Syria as an example, where as a result of the civil war more than 6.6 million people were forced to leave the country, which is one third of its population.
“Against this background, Belarus demonstrated to the whole world then and continues to demonstrate real humanism towards migrants. The Belarusians provided housing, food, medical care and everything necessary for refugees striving for Europe. Our border guards show restraint even today and do not succumb to provocations from the Polish and Lithuanian sides,” added the deputy.
