MI-26 helicopter of Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry arrived in Turkiye to extinguish forest fires

In line with the decision of the Head of State, a MI-26 helicopter crew arrived in the Republic of Turkiye to assist in the elimination of fires in ecosystems, Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry reports

Experienced Belarusian aviators will be on duty near the city of Antalya. The Emergencies Ministry also recalled that a MI-8 helicopter had been sent earlier to assist the Turkish side.

Co-operation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Turkiye in the field of emergency prevention and response has many years of experience. In 2022, during the liquidation of fires in Turkiye, Belarusian aviators made 265 sorties, and the total flight time made 461 hours.
