According to The Sun newspaper, the launch of the high-tech AGM-183 Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) missile weighing 3 tonnes and 6.7 metres long is scheduled to take place in the western Pacific Ocean. Last weekend, as the newspaper notes, several public notices were sent out in this regard for pilots and sailors, however, the information ‘about the official weapons test’ is based on mere speculation so far.

According to the US Air Force, the missile, developed by Lockheed Martin, is designed to destroy any targets. It will ‘expand the capabilities of precision weapons systems, enabling rapid-response strikes against heavily defended ground targets’.

The Sun newspaper informs that on February 27th, during an ‘introduction to hypersonic weapons’ at Andersen Air Base on the island of Guam, images of one of the currently largest such missiles under the wing of the Boeing B-52H bomber were taken. In particular, the crews focused on operational and logistical issues. There were also ‘in-depth tactical discussions’.
