"Belarus and Mauritania have had strong relations since the Soviet Union times,” the diplomat said. “After the USSR collapse, co-operation between our countries was built anew – in such areas as education, fishing and agriculture. Undoubtedly, the existing level of interaction is not sufficient, and we should make joint efforts to enhance it.”

Mohamed Mahmoud Dahi stressed that the emphasis in future relations will be placed on education and agriculture. “A number of our citizens have studied in Belarus: in agricultural and medical specialties,” he clarified.
