Makei: repartition of the world in full swing
At today's Security Council meeting, much attention was paid to foreign policy activities under the present conditions – as commented by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei
In particular, Mr. Makei noted that – taking into account the restrictive measures imposed against Belarus – special attention should be paid to the issues of export diversification. In addition, those present at the meeting discussed Belarus’ reaction to the situation around Ukraine, its interaction with the West, the post-Soviet space and the ‘far arc’.
“True, the situation is complicated. But it is possible to find a way out of any situation. It is now important to develop adequate measures to respond to emerging problems and difficulties; the entire state mechanism should work in well-orchestrated manner. There should be a clear focus on fulfilling the tasks set by the President and the Government," Mr. Makei stressed.
The Minister also focused on the theses voiced by the President: at present, the point is not only and not so much the situation in Ukraine, “Repartition of the world in full swing. Countries are trying to think about the future world order… We are interested in ending the crisis in our neighbouring southern country as soon as possible, so that the normal, calm development of the state is ensured. We are ready to make every effort for this.”
