Lukashenko: we should excel ourselves in all spheres of life during Year of Quality
The goal of this Year of Quality is to excel ourselves in all areas of life – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at today’s ceremony of awarding doctor of science diplomas and professor certificates to scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers
In his address to the scientists, the Head of State noted, “We have a traditional meeting today: we have gathered here – as always – on the eve of Science Day to highlight the results and celebrate the achievements of Belarusian scientists and national science in general. Apart from this, we are to look into the future. It is very important for me to know how you see your role, the role of your students and followers, and the entire scientific community in implementing the strategy of the Year of Quality.”
The President wondered how much people of science are immersed in the idea of the year, which should become the beginning of a new stage in Belarus’ development. Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “We have a goal: to excel ourselves in all spheres of life. Of course, you – the people of science – are at the forefront of the movement towards this goal. Your work, or rather its results, is in many ways shaping the future of the state. Any scientific initiative is a cornerstone that supports the backbone of statehood and public welfare, the quality of our life. Therefore, any scientist should have the responsibility of an architect and a builder, on the accuracy of whose actions the stability, reliability and durability of the structure depend – especially in the field of humanitarian knowledge, which forms a person's worldview. Actually, this is something that we lack now.”
