Lukashenko: there is no army without communications

During today’s meeting on issues of Belarus’ state defence needs in 2022, President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that eighty new armoured personnel carriers were purchased for the needs of the army last year. The Head of State particularly noted the quality of these combat vehicles, specifying that these would continue to be purchased. According to the Belarusian leader, four unmanned aerial systems, more than two thousand anti-tank guided missiles, and dozens of command and control and communications equipment were purchased while ten aircraft were completely overhauled.

The President dwelled separately on the issue of communications, referring to the Ukrainian experience, and called on the generals to carefully study this issue, “This is another lesson of Ukraine. Communications are crucial. Without communications, there is no army. No weapons are needed, nothing is needed if there are no communications. God forbid, in peacetime during exercises, or our units will suddenly be raised somewhere, you will lose communications between your units! Therefore, look closely at this issue.”
