The state will support motherhood and childhood under any conditions and circumstances – as stressed by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his today’s meeting with the activists of the Belarusian Women’s Union public association

In particular, the Belarusian leader noted, “I know that all mothers and those who are ready to give birth to children are concerned of whether the state will continue to support motherhood and childhood. You well understand the issue, and I can assure you that, under any conditions and circumstances, our state will bear this burden – in full and, if necessary, even more. Child allowances will be paid, and their sums will be growing. We have no plans to abolish the parental leave. We will find money to keep children's medicine in step with the global trends, and make our children's health centres exemplary.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the state assistance is undoubtedly very important, but men’s support is of no less importance for every woman. The President clarified, “This is because a man in the family means not only financial support: he acts as a reliable shoulder in household duties and daily participates in children’s upbringing. By the way, following your proposal, a new holiday was established: Father's Day. It easily joined our life, becoming another confirmation that we are doing everything right.”
