Lukashenko spoke about US Dollar and pricing
The President of Belarus touched upon the topic of the US Dollar exchange rate and pricing as he visited today the new building of the children’s polyclinic № 9 in Minsk
Answering the questions, the Head of State spoke about whether prices would be reduced not only for Geely cars, but also for other goods.
The President noted, “We will do everything possible. The market can react in such a way that we will go stores like to a museum: just looking but unable to buy anything. Here is the market for you. Therefore, first of all, we will control these processes. It was said correctly that the US Dollar jumped, leading to an increase in prices. We have an import-dependent economy. Our Belarusian economy is export-oriented, but import-dependent in many respects. But the US Dollar fell. Why didn’t sellers and suppliers bring prices in line with the US Dollar if they refer to this US Dollar? They didn’t bring it – here’s the market for you. Therefore, we will control and ask harshly ... If they do not respond properly, you know my reaction. It will be immediate and the toughest.”
The Head of State also drew attention to objective reasons: imported inflation and the fact that prices have skyrocketed not only in our country.
