Lukashenko sent condolences to the people of US over mass shooting victims in Maine

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has sent condolences to the people of the United States of America in connection with the numerous victims of the shooting in Lewiston, Maine – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

“It was with great pain that Belarus has learnt the news of numerous victims as a result of the merciless shooting in the city of Lewiston, Maine,” the condolence message reads.

The Head of State underlined that Belarus strongly condemns any forms and manifestations of terrorism and extremism, as well as the lack of proper control over the circulation of weapons, which is why another tragedy happened, which became the 565th and the most terrible and widespread in the US in 2023. In total, over 25,000 innocent Americans have become victims of such acts this year.

“These are lives that could and should have been saved,” the President noted.

On behalf of all Belarusians and himself, Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed sincere condolences and addressed words of support to the relatives of the victims and the people of the United States, and also wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
