The Head of State stressed, “We are not isolating ourselves from the outside world, no matter how much anyone would like it. We are building a dialogue on the basis of equality and respect for interests, and the latest example of this is the signing of an agreement on the creation of a free trade zone with Iran. It is today the largest economy in the Middle East and a key element of the southern trade route with the Middle East and South Asia.”

The President considers it important that the EAEU countries are guided not only by the present realities, but also clearly understand the goals of integration in the foreseeable future.

“At the initiative of the Russian side, a declaration has been prepared defining the objectives of the development of the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 and the contours of integration by 2045. We have decided today – while talking in a narrow format – that a roadmap and a plan for our development should be adopted in connection with this declaration to ensure its development. It will not be easy, but we will accept such a plan. In the strict spirit of economic pragmatism, specific, understandable goals have been outlined: further construction of a common Eurasian market, its provision with key goods and resources, development of co-operation, formation of a common transport and logistics space and a common financial market, and also active international positioning of the EAEU,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

According to the Belarusian leader, special attention is paid to the issue of financial support for Eurasian co-operation projects in industry at the expense of the EAEU budget. “It's a good innovation. In short, we will build new enterprises together and thereby develop our economy. The decision has been made, the criteria for the selection of such projects have been developed and approved,” he explained.
