Lukashenko on co-operation with Zimbabwe: most important for us now is not to stop

Belarus and Zimbabwe have achieved certain results, and now the most important is not to stop – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his talks with President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit in Dubai, BelTA reports

“We’ve managed to have a thorough conversation on the eve of this event and discuss the main issues. I once again want to congratulate you on this convincing victory [in late August Emmerson Mnangagwa won the Presidential elections in Zimbabwe] and say that we are waiting for you in Belarus,” noted Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Speaking about bilateral relations, the President underlined that the most important thing now for Belarus and Zimbabwe is not to stop. “Yes, we have certain results of our co-operation, as you have already said, but we still have a lot of work to do in your country. We’re ready to implement the plan that we outlined during my visit to Zimbabwe,” said the Belarusian leader.

The President of Belarus also noted Zimbabwe’s success in the development of the agro-industrial complex. This also became possible due to interaction with Belarus and the supply of modern agricultural machinery. “You started to expert grain and so on,” he underlined.

“When is it better to come to you: in winter or in summer?” Emmerson asked Mnangagwa.

“Of course, in winter!” Aleksandr Lukashenko responded.

“Winter is a little difficult for me...” admitted the President of Zimbabwe. “I’ll think about what time to arrive, but my dear friend, the President of Belarus, can visit Zimbabwe from January to December!”

“Agreed!” the Belarusian leader summed up.
