Lukashenko: life taught Belarusians to live in peace and harmony, being a united nation

Belarusians have been held together for many centuries; life itself has taught this – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, on September 17th during the patriotic forum – We are Belarusians! – which is taking place at Minsk-Arena multifunctional cultural and sports complex

In his speech, Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined, “Belarusians have been held together for many centuries: when they accepted Christianity; when they withstood the blow of the German Teutonic Order; when they fought against Napoleon’s French army; when they defended their faith, language and culture; when – in unison with the fraternal Soviet peoples – they created the basis of their national statehood, stood up to fight fascist aggression and revived the Soviet country from the ashes of the Great Patriotic War. And when they began to build a sovereign Belarus on the ruins of the Soviet Union. We, Belarusians, do not need to be told how important it is to live in peace and harmony, to be a united nation. Life itself has taught us.”
