Lukashenko extended Independence Day congratulations to Sri Lanka’s President and people

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, and all people of this country on Independence Day, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"Despite recent challenges, Sri Lanka is gradually recovering from the economic crisis and implementing plans for its social and sustainable development," the message of congratulations reads.

The Head of State noted that warm and constructive relations have developed between Belarus and Sri Lanka, trade is growing, business ties are expanding, and the number of Lankan students who receive education in Belarusian higher educational institutions is increasing.

"I am convinced that, this year, we will find ways to intensify political dialogue and interaction in such sectors as agriculture, mechanical engineering, science and technology, pharmaceuticals, as well as in the field of food supplies," the President stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Ranil Wickremesinghe and his family good health, happiness and success, also wishing peace and prosperity to the people of Sri Lanka.
