Lukashenko explained what worries him about BSU work

Following an order of the Head of State, the President Administration studied the work of BSU and came to the conclusion that decentralisation of the management vertical and weak team spirit are fraught with the loss of manageability of the university and its leading positions in scientific and educational spheres – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s meeting on topical issues of BSU activities

The Head of State stressed that he has been receiving various information about the processes taking place recently at the university, “These processes alarm me. Moreover, I remember the year of 2020, when you ‘brilliantly’ showed yourself…”

In addition, discussions were held with the management and teaching staff, an expert analysis of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and other state bodies was requested, and the situation at the university was very carefully studied.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said that reports addressed to the Head of State indicate a number of significant problems in the functioning of the university, the main of which is the ill-conceived personnel policy of the management, insufficient involvement of the Rector's Office in administrative work, and primarily this concerns the Rector.

“This is a quote: this is not my opinion yet. This is noted in terms of personnel appointments, the organisation of ideological and educational work with the labour team and students. You have time to convince me whether this is true or not. The conclusion reached by the responsible persons of Belarus’ President Administration is that (I am quoting) decentralisation of the management vertical and weak team spirit among the employees are fraught with the loss of manageability of the university and the loss of its leading positions in the scientific and educational spheres,” the Head of State said.
