Lukashenko congratulates President of Montenegro and citizens of this country on Statehood Day

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has extended greetings to the President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, and the citizens of this country on the national holiday – Statehood Day – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

“It is important for every country to preserve its identity. The valuable thing that needs to be left to posterity should be protected: the independence of the state, its traditions and original culture,” reads the congratulatory message.

The President stressed that Belarus is interested in continuing the dialogue with Montenegro on the basis of mutual understanding and respect. “I am convinced that we will overcome the unfavourable political situation, and that friendly relations, business and cultural contacts between Belarusians and Montenegrins will serve as a reliable basis for expanding fruitful interstate co-operation,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Milo Djukanovic strong health and success in responsible activities, and the Montenegrin people – peace and prosperity.
