Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Minsk and Caracas, despite their geographical remoteness, have managed to build strong and friendly bilateral ties for a short period of history. “Over a quarter of a century, our relations have reached the level of strategic partnership – reliably based on common views on a just world order, and also the efforts and will of your predecessor, Hugo Chavez, who was a close friend of mine,” he stressed.

The Belarusian leader believes this foundation makes it possible to expand co-operation in a variety of industries on the principles of mutual benefit and respect, to develop common approaches to solving global problems, to protect independence and to defend our states’ national interests on the international arena in today's difficult time.

The results of a meeting of the Belarus-Venezuela high-level commission held in Caracas in December 2021 also show a great potential of bilateral co-operation, the President stated.
