Lukashenko admitted he always has good rest in China, despite lag time

Before the official part of their talks in Beijing, the presidents of Belarus and China, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping, had a little chat in an informal friendly manner, BelTA reports with reference to the video featuring the communication posted by the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel

The President of China asked his Belarusian counterpart whether he had managed to rest. “You arrived quite late last night," he noted.

"True, the flight lasted eight hours," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “I always have a good rest in China. At least, it is calm.”

"It is always possible to sleep peacefully here," Xi Jinping said in response.

"Fortunately, yes," the President of Belarus agreed.

Xi Jinping clarified how many hours the lag time is, and Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “Five. Going east is always harder than going west. It's 6am now in Belarus [negotiations started in Beijing at that time].”

"You have said that it is possible to rest in peace. When there are disputes in the West about China, when they begin to criticise it for something, I say: you should thank them that one and a half billion people on the planet live a calm, good, normal life. Nowadays, as they say, it is worth a lot," the President of Belarus stressed.

As noted by the Telegram channel, such a format of friendly communication is very rare in the international protocol.
