As the DPA news agency reports, citing a representative of the air carrier, approximately 600 flights are expected to be cancelled at Frankfurt airport – Germany’s busiest airport – while 400 connections are set to be scrapped in Munich due to a two-day cabin staff strike.

The UFO trade union is demanding a salary increase for 18,000 Lufthansa flight attendants and almost 1,000 Lufthansa Cityline employees. In addition, UFO seeks to provide them with a one-time payment of up to €3,000 to combat inflation.

Earlier, on March 7th and 8th, a strike by Lufthansa ground service employees took place in Germany. Since the beginning of 2024, these strikes have already led to losses for the airline of about €100m.
