Life-changing processes in full swing in Washington, expert states
In his talk with the 1st National Channel of Belarusian Radio, the Chairman of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, Vadim Gigin, shared his views on the processes evolving in the United States now
Speaking about the US current government, the expert stressed that Biden is a complex politician. At a certain stage, he played a positive role: in some sense, it was restraining, and somewhere – on the contrary.
“Actually, quite complicated processes are taking place in Washington. They are life-changing and fateful, America and its role in the world are transforming,” Mr. Gigin stressed.
According to the expert, neither Russia nor Belarus want the United States to collapse. “However, it [US] openly declares that it wants Russia to disappear as a state. No one from the Russian and Belarusian government pronounces words of the kind in relation to America. This is a big challenge and threat, and much is tied to it. Just imagine, if we make it disappear. The consequences can be tremendous. Meanwhile, the fact that America will stop being the only superpower is a very painful moment for the American establishment. We advocate that America's influence should be less in the EU. The European Union should strengthen as an organisation. We support the enhancement of states’ national sovereignty,” he explained.
