Lavrov: Union State is flagship of Eurasian Economic Union

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made a statement during a press conference on the results of the Russian diplomacy in 2023. Answering the question about the impact of Western sanctions on the situation in the Eurasian Economic Union, he mentioned Belarus-Russia co-operation as part of the Union State as an example.

Mr. Lavrov expressed confidence that everything possible is being done in the EAEU to ensure the security of the Eurasian integration countries.

“Everything is being done to in no way depend on those who have proven their complete incompetence, unreliability as partners, who can betray at any moment – in the economy, politics and life in general. As for the Union State, it is the flagship of the Eurasian Economic Union in many areas, it sets the tone and direction for further work of the EAEU," the Russian Foreign Minister stated.
