The prime ministers of Belarus and Russia, Aleksandr Turchin and Mikhail Mishustin, will meet in the coming days – as announced by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a talk with reporters after his today’s meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko
As noted by the Foreign Minister, the state of affairs in the Union State was discussed during today’s lengthy conversation with the Belarusian leader. “There are many plans, and they are all being steadily implemented – enabling us to achieve the goals set by presidents Putin and Lukashenko, who regularly compare their positions and outline specific areas for further development,” he said.
Mr. Lavrov added that the events scheduled to be held this month as part of the interaction within the Union State had been discussed at the meeting as well. Among them was the 2nd Great Heritage: Common Future international forum of the Union State in Brest, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. “A meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia will be held on the sidelines of this forum, while the nearest agenda envisages a meeting of our prime ministers. In short, the intensity of our communication is well known to everyone. It is the most important, the most solid foundation of our fraternal relations, which benefits normal human interaction,” Mr. Lavrov stressed.
