Lavrov: Russia supports Belarus’ inclusion into list of guarantor countries of Ukraine's security
The Russian Federation stands for Belarus to be included into a list of guarantor countries of Ukraine's security – as stressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reports
"At the request of the Ukrainian side, its neutral, non-bloc, nuclear-free status should be accompanied by guarantees of Ukraine's security. Among the guarantors of security, the Ukrainian neighbours would like to see all the countries adjacent to Ukraine and a number of other states, including permanent members of the UN Security Council, and so on. We have proposed to definitely include the Republic of Belarus into this list of guarantor countries," Mr. Lavrov said, adding that all these issues ‘are being co-ordinated – including a full range of guarantor countries’.
