According to the Primorsky Krai Governor, the trade turnover between Belarus and this Russian region is formed primarily due to the supply of food products to the Far East. Moreover, the Belarusian machinery has also proven itself well, including those manufactured by MTZ, MAZ and Amkodor, “We have established service centres and facilities for the training of machine operators in the Primorsky Krai. MAZ-MAN is in great demand. We also plan to buy buses in Belarus; we are now talking about putting us in queue, because there are a lot of orders. We hope that, taking into account our friendly relations, everything will be shipped to us on time. Our agricultural producers are interested in Polesie harvesters, which meet the best world standards and will certainly serve well. We will agree that the missing components for equipment on caterpillar tracks will be added in the Primorsky Krai .”

The Primorsky Krai Governor separately touched upon the issue of establishing joint ventures, ‘including in the area of dairy products processing’, “We are considering this issue with our Chinese partners as well. The Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China have good relations, and Primorye is just a bridge through which all communications take place.”

As far as the supplies from the Primorsky Krai are concerned, collaboration is also expanding, “Boric acid is supplied to Belarusian Polotsksteklovolokno. Deliveries of seafood and fish products increased by 3.3 times. About 60 percent of the cargo coming from China is handled through our ports, which also makes a great contribution to the economy of the Primorsky Krai,” Oleg Kozhemyako explained.

The Russian Governor also noted the social projects that are being implemented jointly with Belarus. According to him, there is active interaction in the field of sports. In particular, Belarusian athletes actively participate in regattas held in the Far East and in the Children of Asia International Sports Games. Moreover, there’s an agreement on the participation of young Belarusians in the 1st Children of Primorye Summer International Sports Games. As part of the cultural exchange, the Primorsky Krai will send about 300 children on an excursion to Belarus to visit sacred historical places: Khatyn, Brest Fortress, Buinichi Field.”

“So that they understand what Nazism is, what the Great Patriotic War was. It was not on our territory, but the Republic of Belarus has fully gone through all these trials. Therefore, it is very important for us that our children know about it.”
