Kochanova: work over amendments to legislation following constitutional referendum has begun

Tomorrow, Belarus’ updated Constitution will come into force and the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Natalya Kochanova, comments on the work which is already being done

“We are ready for this work. Moreover, I can say that – when planning our work over draft laws in 2022 – we understood that, if the referendum is a success and if people support the innovations and amendments to our Basic Law, we would have to bring many regulatory and legislative acts into line. By now, this work has already started: working groups that comprise deputies, members of the Council of the Republic have been formed. We are working out the issues that need to be settled in accordance with the adoption of amendments and additions to the Basic Law of our country,” Ms. Kochanova said.
