Kochanova: all parliamentarians of the world should focus on peace preservation

Countries that adhere to a peace-loving policy should unite and declare together the inadmissibility of interference in internal affairs – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, during her meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belarus, Alireza Sanei

“Belarus is a peace-loving country, which has never demonstrated aggression – and this will never happen, since we perfectly well understand the value of peace and know what war is," Ms. Kochanova said.

The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic added that the attention of parliamentarians around the world should be focused on preserving peace and tranquillity, as well as on the prevention of an unleashing of more serious bloodshed, which some countries are targeting.

Ms. Kochanova emphasised that Belarus defends the position of inadmissibility of interference in the internal affairs of any countries, “People have the right to live in their country following the path of its development, in accordance with their laws and traditions. Non-interference in the internal affairs of our countries is something that we must seriously defend. It is inadmissible to force and direct how to live in this or that country. This is unacceptable. This is a violation of all international rights and agreements.”

The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic expressed gratitude to Iran for its support on international platforms, “We hope that we will continue to support each other in order to defend the issues that are important for our countries.”
