Jinping, Medvedev meet in Beijing
President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping has met with Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev in Beijing, RIA Novosti reports
Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party. The meeting was held at the Diaoyutai state guesthouse.
Dmitry Medvedev welcomed Xi Jinping in Chinese. “Nihao,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council. The Chinese leader stressed that he was very pleased to meet. Dmitry Medvedev responded ‘mutually’ and congratulated Xi Jinping on his recent re-election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China.
During the talks, the parties shared their views on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda and highly appreciated the current relations between China and the Russian Federation. Xi Jinping and Dmitry Medvedev also discussed the situation in the post-Soviet space, including in Ukraine, and noted the coincidence of Beijing’s and Moscow’s approaches to current world problems.
Medvedev conveyed to the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin, which, in particular, notes the unprecedented level of political dialogue between Russia and China.
