“A large package of long-term assistance to support the energy system has been provided by the Government of Japan. Equipment for transformer substations in the amount of about $40m will be purchased and transferred to Ukrenergo,” the company informed.

According to the Ukrainian national energy company, deliveries will start in mid-2023 – to last until 2025, but it depends on the timing of the equipment manufacture. It is noted that the company has already received from Japan more than 30 generators that the country needs in case of massive shelling. Japan is also going to invest about $170m in the emergency recovery programme of Ukraine.
