Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade: EAEU-Iran agreement will create huge synergies for all our countries

The free trade agreement signed between the EAEU and Iran on December 25th will open up many opportunities, and not only for entrepreneurs – as stated by the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Abbas Aliabadi, at an expanded meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg

Abbas Aliabadi drew attention to a number of aspects, especially important in the light of the EAEU agreement signed with Iran, “I would like to sincerely thank the presidents and officials of the EAEU member states and to congratulate our peoples, because the agreement signed will open up a lot of opportunities for our entrepreneurs and trade workers. It will create huge synergies for all our countries. I very much look forward to its early ratification and its translation into practice.”

The Iranian minister specified some important components of the signed agreement, “These include the financial system, the insurance system, the creation of trust between entrepreneurs of our states and, of course, transit infrastructure: customs services, the development of the fleet and a western branch of the North-South transport corridor. I think the world is on the verge of great transformations, and the development of science and technology is the major point. Therefore, the development of co-operation between the EAEU member states will guarantee this development for us.”

The free trade agreement was signed by Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Abbas Aliabadi, as well as representatives of Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
