Welcoming the guests, Belarus’ First Deputy Interior Minister, Chief of the Public Security Police Yuri Nazarenko stressed that the foreign policy pursued by our country is traditionally oriented towards close constructive interaction with the states of the Middle East and, particularly, with Iraq.

Moreover, it was noted that Belarus boasts significant experience in training specialists for law enforcement agencies of foreign states and is ready to provide all possible assistance in training personnel for Iraqi police units in a range of specialties.

“We are confident that collaboration in this area can be promising and long-term. We will do our best to conduct training at a high level that meets all modern requirements,” said the First Deputy Interior Minister.

Brigadier General of Law Enforcement Forces of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Jabber Al-Tamimi thanked the Belarusian colleagues for their hospitality, readiness to develop a mutually beneficial partnership, and outlined the area of the main interests of his department, including the study of the Belarusian experience in maintaining public order during mass events, as well as the purchase of equipment and technical means.

In the format of a constructive dialogue, the parties discussed aspects of joint work, after which the guests visited the base of Minsk’s special purpose police unit, where they were introduced to the tactics of the special forces in countering riots and demonstrated special equipment.
