Informatisation and digitalisation for Belarusian education

During the third State. Business. Citizens regional forum held in Grodno, Education Minister Igor Karpenko has informed that informatisation and digitalisation have been included into the concept of Belarus’ education development until 2030

“We are talking of creation of a register of students and other information platforms necessary for the education system. To do this, we need to combine the already existing educational resources and the projects that operate on an experimental basis – for example, electronic schools, and so on,” Mr. Karpenko said.

The Grodno forum has become a unique dialogue platform in the field of informatisation and telecommunications. Its participants discussed the state, development and prospects of the Belarusian regions with regard to digitalisation. Many issues were in focus of attention – including protection of information and personal data, development of the country’s e-government, introduction of biometric documents (including ID cards), implementation of the Smart City project at the regional level, and enhancement of citizens’ IT literacy.
