Inflation in Sri Lanka exceeded 60%

Sri Lanka is currently experiencing the worst financial and economic crisis over recent decades: in July, the inflation rate in the country reached almost 61 percent, setting a sad record, TASS reports with reference to the Sri Lanka Department of Census and Statistics

It is informed that, in July, the inflation rate reached 60.8 percent in Sri Lanka, though it was at the level of 54.6 percent in June. It is worth noting that food prices skyrocketed most of all: over the year, the food inflation rate made 90.9 percent in the country.
