Indonesia thinking over joining the BRICS

Indonesia is currently considering a possibility of applying for BRICS membership – as stated by the country’s Ambassador to Russia, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, RIA Novosti reports

According to the diplomat, various departments are engaged into the discussion of possible BRICS membership, and the country is considering all the pros and cons of this move. "The government will make a decision later,” he noted.

BRICS is an interstate association of five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Other states have previously also expressed desire to join the bloc.
