A INSACOG member said, “We have seen sporadic cases of Eris in India, but there is nothing to worry about yet.”

The Ministry of Health of India has also reported that 54 new carriers of coronavirus were identified in the country over the past day, and the total number of active cases of the disease made 1,574 yesterday.

EG.5.1 comes from the Omicron strain and was first discovered in March of this year. It was discovered in the UK last month. It is reported that, until recently, this strain has not caused much concern, but scientists are concerned about the speed of its spread and the increase in the number of cases.
