In H1 2023, foreign investors injected $4.5bn into Belarusian economy

In the first six months of 2023, foreigners invested $4.5bn in the real sector of the Belarusian economy, the National Statistical Committee reports

The inflow of foreign direct investment amounted to $3.6bn, or 79.7 percent of all foreign investments received.

The main investors into Belarusian organisations were business entities from Russia (57.1 percent of all investments received) and Cyprus (20.2 percent). In turn, in H1 2023, Belarusian organisations directed $3.1bn of investments abroad.

According to the source, significant volumes were directed to business entities in Russia (91.9 percent). The share of direct investments accounted for 81.3 percent of all investments sent abroad.
