In 2022, foreign investors injected $7bn into Belarusian economy

Last year, foreign investors invested $7bn in the real sector of the Belarusian economy — as reported by the National Statistical Committee of Belarus on its website

The main investors into Belarusian organisations were business entities from Russia (56.1 percent of all investments received), Cyprus (14.7 percent), the Netherlands (4.1 percent) and Ukraine (2.9 percent). Foreign direct investment totalled $6bn, or 85.4 percent of all incoming foreign injections.

Over the past year, Belarusian organisations directed $6.3bn of investments abroad. Significant volumes were sent to business entities in Russia (87 percent), Ireland (2.4 percent) and Kazakhstan (1.6 percent). The share of direct investments accounted for 82.4 percent of all directed investments abroad.
