Golovchenko took part in BELAZ Competence Centre opening in St. Petersburg

Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko has taken part in the opening of Belarusian Automobile Works’ Competence Centre at St. Petersburg Mining University

BELAZ JSC – Management Company of Holding BELAZ-HOLDING and St. Petersburg Mining University signed an agreement on co-operation on April 15th, 2021. The sides agreed to create an innovative competence centre of BElAZ on the basis of the University to unite the best technological solutions in mechanical engineering, digital and information technologies in the mining industry.

The BELAZ Competence Centre has four laboratories: training and simulator, training and laboratory, Digital Mining Production and AI Driven Mining Equipment.

The Belarusian company partners Russia’s Zyfra JSC which is rendering assistance in equipping the laboratories.

In particular, the AI Driven Mining Equipment laboratory boasts a dynamic auto-trainer designed to train a mining dump truck driver without the vehicle depreciation for the purpose of initial training and perfection of the existing skills. It is possible to simulate emergency situations that are often dangerous to reproduce in real life.

"It is just space," Mr. Golovchenko described the new facility in his talk with journalists. "This centre is aimed at people who have grown up with tablets in their hands. Accordingly, they want to see the entire eco-environment in its usual form.”

The Prime Minister added that BELAZ works effectively in the Russian market, “We have completely resolved all issues related to import substitution. Actually, it is a real product of the Union State. This vehicle will also service other international projects.”
