Golovchenko: Belarusian exports over 30% up

Since early 2021, Belarusian exports have grown by more than 30 percent, while a record positive balance of payments has been achieved – as informed by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in his talk with Interstate TV and Radio Company Mir, BelTA reports

"Belarusian exports have basically grown by 35 percent over the past year. These are very large figures. Looking at results of the previous years, we enjoy a record positive balance of payments – which is the excess of the currency inflow into the country over its outflow. This has positively influenced the foreign exchange market, macroeconomic balance, and payments of our debt obligations. There is no miracle here – but simply a hard work,” Mr. Golovchenko said.

The Prime Minister stressed that Belarus has competitive advantages since no lockdown was introduced in the country, as well as due to affordable energy prices – including natural gas and oil. "While some European plants have started to close due to unaffordable energy prices, we feel quite comfortable – working and meeting the demand that our products enjoy in various markets," he added.
