Gigin: Belarusian Head of State pays special attention to agriculture

While our neighbours are rattling their weapons, Belarus continues to focus on normal life and economic development – as noted by Director General of the National Library of Belarus Vadim Gigin in his talk with Alfa Radio, when commenting on the Head of State’s working trips to the Kamenets and Berestovitsa districts

He drew attention to the fact that Aleksandr Lukashenko has always acted in this way, and he does not deviate from this line.

“The President has repeatedly noted that the national economy is the basis of national security. We know that the Head of State pays special attention to agriculture and the work that is carried out on the ground. We can even simply collect Aleksandr Lukashenko’s quotes: ‘Get down to Business’, ‘Get Undressed and Work’. The President’s instructions are aimed at ensuring that everyone calmly does their job, which is the basis of prosperity,” underlined the expert.

According to Vadim Gigin, if our neighbours and major powers acted in the context of these calls of the Belarusian leader, then there would be no current military confrontation. However, they relied on something else.

“Did Ukraine have no other business until 2022, except to aspire to join NATO and build up the army? Was everything fine in Ukraine? Did it flourish? We may take Western reports and look at the degree of corruption in this country and the unemployment rate. Did none of us travel along Ukrainian roads and see what was going on there? They had to be involved in settling these issues,” the political analyst underlined. “By the way, they seemed to be trying but then it turned out that more money was stolen from urban improvement works than was allocated. Now they are doing the same with arms supplies. This is their local approach while we have law, order and labour here. Look at the border near Grodno, Berestovitsa, Brest. From our side, normal work is being carried out on the ground while from the other side we see just military hysteria, the clanging of caterpillar tracks, and the rattling of weapons. This is a huge difference between us.”
