“Whoever does not expel the supporter of Nazism Melnik now has lost all self-respect,” noted the politician.

According to Die Welt, Wolfgang Kubicki, the Vice-President of the Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP), also stood up for the German chancellor.

“Olaf Scholz is not a sausage, he is the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Melnik needs to respect this,” he stressed.

The Vice Chairman of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the German Bundestag, Johann Wadephul, called the tone of Andriy Melnyk inappropriate and unreasonable, since it does not contribute to strengthening solidarity with Ukraine, “Even in such a difficult situation, diplomatic representatives must behave appropriately towards German officials. Melnyk’s statements do not help Ukraine.”

The Ukrainian Ambassador often allows himself undiplomatic statements. In particular, several times he demanded that Berlin provide Kiev with weapons, complained that the EU did not move forward on the embargo on Russian oil and gas, and stated that he considers all Russians to be enemies.
