MP on President’s prediction: Lukashenko foresaw Ukraine events

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has repeatedly warned that in case of non-compliance with the Minsk Agreements, the consequences for Ukraine would be catastrophic. The words of the Belarusian leader, which were not listened to in Kiev at the time, turned out to be prophetic – as underlined by member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Oleg Gaidukevich in his talk with Alfa Radio.

Back during his November meeting with representatives of the BelNPP labour team and builders, as well as social infrastructure workers and Ostrovets residents, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that ‘Ukraine will still be ours. Nobody needs this Ukraine’. At the beginning of the special military operation, the Belarusian leader also warned Volodymyr Zelenskyy that ‘as soon as some kind of mess starts somewhere’, they will immediately forget about the President of Ukraine.

“The President’s words came true not only from the moment the special military operation began, but also earlier. Why did the President insist on the compliance with the Minsk Agreements when they were signed? Why did he constantly talk about this? The reason is simple: he foresaw that in the end everything would lead to the events that began. He warned more than once that if the Minsk Agreements aren’t be observed, the consequences for Ukraine will be catastrophic. It came true,” Oleg Gaidukevich recalled.

According to him, there was a chance to save Ukraine from war, and everyone admits this today.

“The President asked one thing from Ukraine: to pursue an independent policy. You say that you are sovereign, so be sovereign. It was in your sovereign interests to comply with the Minsk Agreements, to prevent aggravation of relations with Belarus, to prevent war, to save your people and to calmly move towards strengthening the state. They did not listen to our President, and all their decisions since 2014 and earlier are not sovereign. They are adopted not to please national interests and the Ukrainian people, but to please the West. Do the Ukrainian people need war? No. The Ukrainian people wanted and still want to live a normal, peaceful life. Look, no matter what politicians do, no matter what they ban, people are still drawn to us. How many Ukrainian refugees are on the territory of Belarus and Russia today,” the deputy added.

He underlined that Ukrainian refugees are not considered as second-class citizens in Belarus and Russia, as, e.g., in the European Union.

“There they were, are and will be second- and third-class people, no matter what the storytellers in Brussels tell,” said the deputy.

Oleg Gaidukevich noted that ordinary Ukrainians listen and hear our President, with most of them being long in favour of settling the conflict through talks.

“The problem is that Ukraine is not allowed to make independent decisions. The current government in Kiev does not make a single decision about war, peace, mobilisation, or the economy. They are completely under the White House. Why did it happen? Because today the Ukrainian state and its leadership cannot exist for a single day without Western help. I’m convinced that assistance will be provided further on. The volumes will become clear later, but they will continue the war. This is not about victory; no one believes in any victory over Russia. Their task is to continue the war to earn money,” the deputy said.

Oleg Gaidukevich stressed that the only decision that Volodymyr Zelenskyy can make on his own is to pick up the phone, call some assistant in the US Congress or in the White House, ask for a conversation and ask what he should do.

“Even personnel policy in Ukraine is completely controlled by the White House. Not a single appointment to a serious position takes place without the approval of the Americans. This is the occupation of the country,” the expert concluded.
